Michael Kyle Williams (born September 23, 1998), known professionally as Sheff G, is an American rapper. He became well-known with his 2017 song "No Suburban". This song was a response to "Suburban" by 22Gz. Sheff G is recognized as one of the first artists in the Brooklyn drill music style.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Michael Williams was born on September 23, 1998, in Brooklyn, New York. His mother is from Trinidad and Tobago and his father is from Haiti. He grew up in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn. He was inspired to start rapping by listening to famous artists like The Notorious B.I.G. and Chicago drill rappers such as Lil Bibby and Chief Keef.

Rising to Fame

In 2017, his song "No Suburban," produced by AXL Beats, became very popular. This helped him become known as one of the pioneers of the Brooklyn drill music movement. He later released a new version of "No Suburban" with rapper Corey Finesse.

Sheff G, along with fellow artists Sleepy Hallow and Corey Finesse, was managed by NuLa Entertainment. This company was founded by former NFL football player, Junior Galette.

In 2019, Sheff G released his mixtape titled The Unluccy Luccy Kid. He also started his own music label, Winners Circle Entertainment, in the same year.

In May 2020, he released his first studio album, One and Only. His song "No Suburban, Pt. 2" became very popular, getting over 21 million streams. It was later certified Gold by RIAA in 2022, meaning it sold a lot of copies.

On July 17, 2020, he released his EP (Extended Play) called Just 4 Yall. This EP included five songs, such as "Picasso" featuring Chicago drill rapper King Von, Jay Critch, and Eli Fross. Other songs were "Say That" featuring Rich The Kid and "Make It Happen" featuring Sleepy Hallow.

In August 2020, Winners Circle Entertainment teamed up with RCA Records. Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow then released the song "Tip Toe." This song was produced by Great John and used a sample from Tiny Tim's version of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips." "Tip Toe" was Sheff G's second song to be certified Gold by the RIAA.

In December 2020, the music streaming service Audiomack recognized Sheff G as an "Up Now" artist. Sheff G shared that Audiomack helped him connect with new fans and expand his reach.

On December 16, 2020, he released the mixtape Proud Of Me Now. Throughout 2021, he released several new songs. These included "On Go" featuring Polo G in July and "Run It Up" featuring Sleepy Hallow and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie in August.

On July 14, 2022, he released his album titled From the Can. This album featured 12 songs and included collaborations with artists like Sleepy Hallow, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Polo G, Fivio Foreign, Rowdy Rebel, and Jay Bezzy.

Public Appearances

On May 23, 2024, Michael Williams spoke at a political rally in the Bronx. During his speech, he shared his support for the former President.
