The slender-billed greenfinch (scientific name: "Carduelis" aurelioi) was a type of songbird. It belonged to the finch family, called Fringillidae. This bird lived only on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Sadly, it became extinct after people started living on the islands.
About the Slender-billed Greenfinch
This bird was first described in 2010. It was originally put into a group of birds called Carduelis, which included other greenfinches. Later, in 2012, living greenfinches were moved to a different group called Chloris. However, the slender-billed greenfinch is still often referred to by its original name in scientific papers.
What Did It Look Like?

The slender-billed greenfinch had a special beak. It was longer, thinner, and more cone-shaped than the beaks of other greenfinches. Its beak looked more like the beaks of chaffinches. This unique beak likely helped it find and eat specific foods.
