Where is Snape Island?
Snape Island is found within the vast Hudson Bay. It is one of the many islands that make up the Belcher Islands archipelago. An archipelago is a group or chain of islands.
The island helps to close off a water area called Omarolluk Sound on its southwestern side. To its north, a narrow waterway called Rock Passage separates Snape Island from the Mukpollo Peninsula, which is part of Flaherty Island. To its southeast, another narrow waterway called Narrow Passage separates it from O'Leary Island.
Nearby Islands
Snape Island is surrounded by other islands in the Belcher Islands group. Some of the islands close by include Broomfield Island, Innetalling Island, and Walton Island. These islands are all part of the same beautiful and remote archipelago.
