Snelling is found near the middle of Barnwell County. You can find it at these coordinates: 33°14′29″N 81°27′11″W / 33.24139°N 81.45306°W. South Carolina Highway 64 goes right through the town. This highway connects Snelling to other important places.
If you drive east on Highway 64 for about 5 miles (8 km), you'll reach Barnwell. Barnwell is the main town, or "county seat," for Barnwell County. If you go west for about 1 mile (1.6 km), you'll find the entrance to the Savannah River Site. This is a large government area.
