Soledad Sulphur Springs was once a small settlement in Los Angeles County, California. It was located high up, at about 1,811 feet (552 meters) above sea level. While it no longer exists as a town, its name lives on in the area.
Where Was Soledad Sulphur Springs?
This former settlement was located in the beautiful state of California. It appeared on maps made by the USGS until at least 1933.
Today, if you were to visit the area where Soledad Sulphur Springs once stood, you would find it along Sand Canyon Road. It's close to the Metrolink Antelope Valley train line and California State Route 14. This spot is now on the edge of the city of Santa Clarita.
A Name That Lives On
Even though the settlement itself is gone, its name is still used today. Soledad Sulphur Springs gave its name to the Sulphur Springs School District. This school district continues to serve students in the area, keeping a piece of the old settlement's history alive.
