Sommore (born Lori Ann Rambough on May 15, 1966) is an American comedian and actress. She is known as the "Diva of Contemporary Comedy." Her comedy style is known for being smart and sarcastic. She often talks about money and relationships in her acts.
Sommore became famous as the first female host of the popular TV show ComicView on BET. She was also one of the four stars of The Queens of Comedy tour. She has appeared in movies like Friday After Next, Soul Plane, and Dirty Laundry. For her work, she received the Richard Pryor Award for Comic of the Year.

Early Life and Education
Sommore grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. She went to McCorristin Catholic High School and graduated in 1985. After high school, she attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. There, she studied business administration.
Before becoming a comedian, Sommore had several different jobs. She worked in retail, as an employment consultant, and even as an algebra teacher. These experiences helped shape her successful career in comedy.
Career in Comedy and Film
Sommore's father was a writer and an English teacher, and he inspired her to develop strong writing skills. She studied the business of comedy to learn how to succeed.
Television and Hosting
Sommore has appeared on many television shows. These include HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at the Apollo, and BET Live from L.A. She also had guest roles on the sitcoms The Hughleys and The Parkers. She was even featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
In 2008, she was part of the game show 1 vs. 100. She also appeared on the sixth season of the reality show Celebrity Fit Club, where she lost 11 pounds.
The Queens of Comedy
Sommore toured with three other famous female comedians: Mo'Nique, Laura Hayes, and Adele Givens. Their tour was called The Queens of Comedy. It was very successful and was filmed for a special that aired on Showtime. The special was also released on DVD.
Movies and Stand-Up Specials
Sommore has acted in several movies. Her film roles include parts in Soul Plane, A Miami Tail, Friday After Next, and Something New.
She has also created her own stand-up comedy specials. In 2008, she released "The Queen Stands Alone," which she wrote and produced herself. Her 2015 special, Sommore: The Reign Continues, was shown on Netflix in 2018.
Personal Life
Sommore has lived in several cities, including Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but her main home is in Miami.
Her father was the poet Doughtry "Doc" Long. She also has a famous half-sister, the actress Nia Long.
