Sooty's Amazing Adventures was a fun animated TV show. It was a spin-off from the very popular Sooty puppet show. In this cartoon, Sooty was a full-bodied bear. He could move around freely without a puppeteer!

The Theatre and Magic Trapdoor
The characters in the show live in the Fanshawe Theatre. This theatre is in a coastal town in England. From the main stage, they use a special trapdoor. This trapdoor can take them to many different places. It can also send them to different times in history! But sometimes, the trapdoor doesn't send them where they want to go. This often leads to exciting and unexpected adventures.
Meet the Main Characters
Sooty
Sooty is a quiet and clever bear. He is the leader of his group of friends. Sooty doesn't talk in the show. But he always finds a way to show his friends what he means. He wears bright red overalls with two yellow buttons. Sooty also has a special magic wand. He can only use his wand once per adventure. It often helps him save his friends from trouble.
Sweep
Sweep is a dog who can now speak! He has a funny, groany voice. Before, he was known for his squeaky sound. Sweep isn't the smartest of the group. He often thinks only about food, especially sausages. He can be a bit of a scaredy-cat. Sweep usually tries to avoid danger. He wears green and blue overalls and a red collar.
Soo
Soo is a female panda. She is very sensible and doesn't like mischief. Soo often helps keep the others organized. She wears a blue dress with a yellow flower. She also wears white underpants. Soo is usually the one who brings calm to the group.
Little Cousin Scampi
Little Cousin Scampi is the smallest and youngest character. He is also Sooty's cousin. If something mischievous happens, Scampi is usually behind it! He wears a schoolboy outfit.
Other Fun Characters
Katarina
Katarina is a polite Persian cat. She doesn't believe in the gang's adventures. She wears a pink velvet coat and a pink fedora. Her hat has a feather on top.
Captain Fogbound
Captain Fogbound is a ginger cat. He flies a hot air balloon. He is also dating Katarina. He wears an aviator hat, a dark green leather coat, and brown gloves.
Cousin McScampi
Cousin McScampi is Scampi's Scottish cousin. He plays the bagpipes, even worse than Scampi! He wants to find the Loch Ness Monster.
The Aliens
These two aliens are from the planet Alpha Romeo. They become friends with the gang. Sooty saved their spaceship from crashing.
Morris the Mouse
Morris is a shy male mouse. He lives in the theatre's attic. He used to live behind the stage. He woke up because he was hungry for cheese. Sometimes, Morris joins the gang on their adventures.
Sir Ray Fanshawe
Sir Ray Fanshawe was the old owner of the Fanshawe Theatre. He was once buried under a huge pile of sausages! He wears a purple fedora with a feather. He also wears a fancy Shakespearean ruff and an Elizabethan shirt.
Captain Neecap
Captain Neecap is a bad French villain. He owns a submarine and a drilling machine. He often tries to kidnap Sooty and his friends.
