Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. This band is known for its energetic music and catchy songs. They have been making music for many years and have gained fans all over the world.
The band started way back in 1981. At first, they had a different name: Loud Fast Rules. But in 1983, they changed their name to Soul Asylum. Their first album, Say What You Will, Clarence...Karl Sold the Truck, came out in 1984. One of their most famous songs is "Runaway Train". This song was a huge hit and even won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 1994! Sadly, their original bass player, Karl Mueller, passed away in 2005 after an illness. The band has continued to make music, releasing their tenth album, Delayed Reaction, in 2012.
