Soul Music is a fun, seven-part animated television show. It's based on the 1994 book of the same name by the famous writer Terry Pratchett. The show was first shown on December 28, 1998. It was also released on DVD in 2001. This miniseries was created by Acorn Media and directed by Jean Flynn. It was the first time a whole Discworld novel was made into a TV show. The show's music was also released on CD. You can now find the soundtrack on iTunes.
What's the Story About?
The show's main idea is: "A story of reality, fantasy and the bits in the middle." The series follows the book's exciting plot very closely. Like many of Pratchett's books, it brings something modern into a magical world. In this case, it's rock and roll music and becoming a big star! This new music causes some almost disastrous problems. The story also introduces Susan Sto Helit. She is the daughter of Mort and Ysabell. She is also the granddaughter of Death himself!
