The SouthWest Cyclops was a professional indoor lacrosse team from Canada. They played in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The team started out as the Brampton Inferno. In their last season in 2015, they played their games in Paris, Ontario.

Team History and Journey

The team was officially started on June 19, 2011. They were ready to begin playing in 2012. The Canadian Lacrosse League had several teams when it first began. These included teams like the Inferno, the Iroquois Ironmen, and the Ohsweken Demons.

On January 7, 2012, the Inferno played in the very first game of the CLax league. They won against the Iroquois Ironmen with a score of 18–11. This exciting game took place in Hagersville, Ontario.

First Seasons as Brampton Inferno

In their first season, the team was known as the Brampton Inferno. They played 14 games and finished second in the league. Their record was 8 wins and 6 losses. The Inferno made it to the semi-finals but lost a close game. They were defeated 17-16 by the Ohsweken Demons, who went on to win the championship.

In 2013, the Inferno had the same record of 8 wins and 6 losses. However, they finished fourth in the standings this time. In the playoffs, they were again defeated. The Durham TurfDogs beat them, stopping them from reaching the championship game.

Becoming the SouthWest Cyclops

In December 2013, after two seasons, the team changed its name. They became the SouthWest Cyclops. They also moved their home games to Hagersville, Ontario. Their new home arena was the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena. In 2015, the team moved one more time to Paris, Ontario.
