South New Castle is a small town, called a borough, located in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2020, about 649 people lived there. It is mostly a place where people live, just south of the city of New Castle. It is also part of the larger Pittsburgh area. South New Castle will become part of Shenango Township on January 1, 2026.

Local Culture
The nearby city of New Castle is sometimes called the "hot dog capital of the world." This is because of its famous chili dogs. These tasty hot dogs were first made by Greek immigrants. They came to New Castle in the early 1900s and opened restaurants.
