Where is South Point Located?
South Point is found in the southern part of Cameron County. It's near a bend in the Rio Grande river. This bend includes the very southernmost point of the river and of Texas itself.
The community is about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of this southernmost point. South Point is also about 9 miles (14 km) east of the center of Brownsville, a larger city nearby.
