South Valley Stream is a community in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It is known as a hamlet, which means it's a small community that is part of a larger town but doesn't have its own local government. It's also a census-designated place (CDP), which is an area the government uses for counting people.
In 2020, about 6,386 people lived here. South Valley Stream is in the southern part of the Town of Hempstead. It includes two smaller areas called North Woodmere and Mill Brook.
