South Venice is a special kind of community in Sarasota County, Florida, in the United States. It's called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially run by its own local government. Instead, the government counts its population for official records. In 2020, about 15,619 people lived here. South Venice is part of a bigger area that includes North Port, Bradenton, and Sarasota, Florida.

South Venice covers about 16.6 square kilometers (or 6.34 square miles) of land and water. Most of this area, about 15.6 square kilometers (5.96 square miles), is land. The rest, about 1.0 square kilometer (0.38 square miles), is water.
South Venice is located west of North Port. It is south of the city of Venice and north of Englewood. In 2014, a partnership was made with a company called Mattamy Homes. This partnership helped to develop a large community of neighborhoods called the West Villages.
