Spatz was a fun children's comedy TV show from the 1990s. It was made by Thames Television and created by Andrew Bethell. The show first aired on February 21, 1990, and ran until April 10, 1992.
The story was set in a busy fast food restaurant called Spatz. This restaurant was located inside a made-up shopping mall in Cricklewood, London. Two Canadians ran the Spatz restaurant. Karen Hansson (Jennifer Calvert) was the bossy European Co-ordinator for Spatz International. Thomas "TJ" Strickland (Paul Michael) was the kind-hearted manager of the restaurant.
Many actors played the employees at Spatz. These included Vas Blackwood, Stephanie Charles, Jonathan Copestake, Sue Devaney, Joe Greco, Katy Murphy, Ling Tai, and Samantha Womack. The show also had some famous guest stars. These included David Harewood, Rhys Ifans, Gary Lineker, Danny John-Jules, and Nicholas Parsons.
Spatz: A Look Back
On January 6, 2013, a special event happened for fans of Spatz. An episode from 1992 called "Tango" was shown again on CITV. This was part of CITV's 30th anniversary celebration. It was a chance for old fans to see the show again. New viewers could also discover this classic comedy.
