Spencer Karen Grammer (born October 9, 1983) is an American actress. She is well-known for her voice role as Summer Smith in the animated science-fiction show Rick and Morty. She also played Casey Cartwright in the college comedy-drama series Greek.
About Her Early Life
Spencer Grammer was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father is the famous actor Kelsey Grammer. Her mother is Doreen Alderman. Spencer was named after her aunt, Karen. She has several half-siblings, including the actress Greer Grammer. Spencer went to Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. Later, she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in directing from Columbia University in 2023.
Her Acting Career
Spencer Grammer started acting when she was a child. Her very first role was a small, uncredited part in the TV show Cheers. Her father, Kelsey Grammer, was a main star in that show.
One of Spencer's biggest roles was playing Casey Cartwright in the ABC Family series Greek. In this show, she played a sister who, along with her brother Rusty, explored college life. The series focused on their adventures within the world of fraternities and sororities at a college in Ohio.
In 2013, Spencer Grammer starred in Ironside. This show was a new version of an older TV series. Since 2013, Spencer has been the voice of Summer Smith in the animated science fiction series Rick and Morty. This show is very popular and has helped her become widely recognized.
Her Personal Life
Spencer Grammer married James Hesketh, who is a firefighter, on February 11, 2011. They had a son in October 2011. They later divorced in November 2017.
