The Spore Bot Parts Pack, also called the Dr Pepper Parts Pack, is an extra set of content for the game Spore. This pack lets you add cool robotic parts to your creatures! It was made by Maxis Emeryville and published by Electronic Arts.
The Bot Parts pack gives you 14 new robot-themed pieces. You can use these in Spore's creature editor or in the special Spore Creature Creator program. It came out on January 1, 2010. You could get it through a special deal with the drink company Dr Pepper. Some players had trouble installing it, and it was only available in the United States.
What's Inside
The Bot Parts Pack adds 14 new "robot-style" pieces. These include new heads, eyes, and arms for your creatures. You can use them in the creature editor of Spore.
These new parts let you create creatures that look fully mechanical. You can also make "cyborgs" by mixing robot parts with the regular organic body parts already in the game. This means you can design all sorts of unique creatures!
How It Was Released
The Bot Parts Pack came out on January 1, 2010. It was part of a special deal with the soft drink company Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper worked with Electronic Arts to offer unique game content.
They put special codes on some Dr Pepper bottles. You could use these codes on the Dr Pepper website. Then, you could choose which game you wanted content for. Besides Spore, the deal also included content for games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, and The Sims 3.
The codes were available on bottles from January 1 to March 31, 2010. They were available again from July 1 to December 31, 2010. This Dr Pepper deal was only in the United States. This meant players in other countries could not get the expansion, which made some people unhappy.
You could use the new robot parts in both the full Spore game and the separate Spore Creature Creator. Some players found that installing Bot Parts before another expansion called Galactic Adventures caused problems. If this happened, players sometimes had to uninstall the game. Then they had to reinstall everything in the correct order.
