Spring Creek is a small town in the Marlborough area of New Zealand. It's a quiet place with a rich history. State Highway 1 passes by the town on its western side. The Wairau River flows along its eastern edge.
Spring Creek is located 22 kilometers (about 14 miles) south of Picton. It is also just 6 kilometers (about 4 miles) north of Blenheim.
The first European settlers arrived in Spring Creek around 1850. Their names were George Dodson, William Soper, and Dr Vickerman. In 1926, the Wairau River flooded badly. It broke through its banks, causing a major event for the town.
Spring Creek is home to Wairau Marae. A marae is a special meeting ground for Māori people. Wairau Marae belongs to the Ngāti Rārua and Ngāti Toa Rangatira tribes. It includes the Wairau wharenui, which is a traditional meeting house. The town also has a railway classification yard on the Main North Line. This is where train cars are sorted and organized.

A school was first started in Spring Creek in the early 1860s. The current Spring Creek School was officially founded in 1873. It has been an important part of the community for a long time.
