Spy Kids: All the Time in the World is an exciting spy action comedy movie from 2011. It was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. This film is the fourth and last movie in the popular Spy Kids series. It's a new story that follows the events of Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over from 2003.

The movie stars Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, Alexa Vega, Daryl Sabara, Rowan Blanchard, Mason Cook, Ricky Gervais, and Jeremy Piven. It was the only film in the series that let viewers smell different scents during the movie! This was done using special "Aroma-scope" scratch & sniff cards.

Story of the Spy Kids' New Adventure

Meet the Wilson Family

The movie begins with Marissa Wilson (Jessica Alba), a secret agent for the OSS. She is trying to catch a sneaky criminal named Tick Tock (Jeremy Piven). He has stolen a mini-disk with information about a dangerous weapon called Project: Armageddon. Even though Marissa is nine months pregnant, she keeps chasing him!

Marissa soon gives birth to her daughter, Maria. She is married to Wilbur (Joel McHale), a TV host who thinks Marissa is an interior decorator. Wilbur also has two children from a previous marriage, twins Rebecca (Rowan Blanchard) and Cecil (Mason Cook). Rebecca doesn't really like Marissa, and she loves playing tricks on her. To try and connect with Rebecca, Marissa gives her a special red-sapphire necklace.

Time Starts Speeding Up

News reports start coming in that time itself is speeding up! A mysterious criminal mastermind called the Time Keeper says he is responsible. He plans to use Project: Armageddon to punish society for wasting time. The Time Keeper demands that Tick Tock bring him the Chronos Sapphire. This sapphire turns out to be the jewel in the necklace Marissa gave to Rebecca.

The OSS calls Marissa back to work. She needs to bring the Chronos Sapphire with her. When she asks Rebecca for the necklace, it makes their relationship even more difficult. Marissa arrives at OSS headquarters, only to find that Rebecca swapped the jewel for baby food!

New Spy Kids Step Up

Tick Tock's helpers break into Marissa's house. Rebecca and Cecil hide in a secret panic room. There, they watch a video from Marissa. She tells them her secret: she is a spy! They also learn that their dog, Argonaut (Ricky Gervais), is actually a talking robot.

The twins escape and go to OSS headquarters. Marissa's niece and their step-cousin, Carmen Cortez (Alexa Vega), gives them a tour. Carmen used to be a Spy Kid herself! Rebecca and Cecil decide to go after the Time Keeper.

Uncovering the Time Keeper's Plan

Their search leads them to a clock shop, which is Tick Tock's secret hideout. The twins watch a video about something called the Wells Experiment. This experiment shows how the Chronos Sapphire can save someone frozen in time. Tick Tock captures the twins, but Marissa and Carmen rescue them. However, Tick Tock manages to steal the Sapphire.

Meanwhile, Wilbur starts his own investigation to catch his first spy. He learns that Marissa is a spy, which shocks him! He gets fired from his job and becomes upset with Marissa and the kids.

Stopping Project: Armageddon

As time speeds up even faster, the OSS agents learn more about the Wells Experiment. Carmen's brother, Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara), who was a former Spy Kid, also joins the case.

Cecil realizes that Danger D'Amo, Marissa's boss, is the Time Keeper! Danger's name is even an anagram of "Armageddon." Danger reveals that his father was involved in the Wells Experiment, and he was the boy frozen in time. He wants to use the Armageddon Device to go back in time and spend more time with his father.

Cecil figures out that Danger has tried this many times before, but it always makes things worse. He also realizes that Tick Tock and his helpers are all different versions of Danger himself! Rebecca tells Danger that he should use the time he has wisely, instead of trying to get more.

When a time vortex opens, Danger finally meets his father. He then returns as an older version of himself, realizing Cecil was right. He shuts down the device. Wilbur catches Tick Tock and reunites with Marissa and the children. He promises to make time for them, not just wait for it.

Carmen and Juni announce that they will lead a new Spy Kids program. Rebecca and Cecil become recruiters for new agents, even inviting the kids watching the movie to join!
