Srihari (born August 15, 1964 – died October 9, 2013) was a famous Indian actor. He mostly worked in Telugu movies. He also acted in some Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. Srihari won many awards for his acting, including seven Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Srihari was born in 1964 in a place called Elamarru. This village is near Gudivada in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. When he was a child, his family moved to Hyderabad. They settled in an area called Balanagar.

Srihari started his career as a stunt fighter. He was also good at gymnastics. He even had chances to become a police officer or a railway officer. But he chose to follow his dream of acting. He finished his college degree in 1986. His first movie role was in Brahma Nayudu in 1987. The famous director Dasari Narayana Rao introduced him to films.

Personal Life and Family

In 1996, Srihari married Disco Shanti, who was also a South Indian actress. They had two sons and a daughter. Sadly, their daughter, Akshara, passed away when she was only four months old.

To honor their daughter, Srihari and his wife started the Akshara Foundation. This foundation helps provide clean, fluoride-free drinking water. They helped three villages in the Ranga Reddy district. Srihari gave more than half of his earnings to support this important cause. He also helped four other villages in Medchal. His son, Meghamash, later became an actor too. He made his acting debut in the movie Rajdhooth in 2019.

Passing Away

Srihari passed away on October 9, 2013, at the age of 49. He was in Mumbai, filming for the movie R... Rajkumar. He felt unwell and was taken to Lilavati Hospital. Doctors found he had a liver problem. He was buried next to his daughter.
