St. Francis is a small town located in South Dakota, United States. It's part of the Rosebud Indian Reservation in Todd County. The town is also known by its Lakota name, Sápauŋ thí, which means "Catholic House." In 2020, about 469 people lived there.
The town got its name from the St. Francis Indian School. This school was named after a famous person called Francis of Assisi. A Catholic group known as the Franciscans used to run the school.
