Club History
St. Ouen F.C. started in 1919. They won their first award in Jersey football in 1939. This award was the Trinity Shield. Later, the club created Jersey's first football school. This school helped young players learn and improve. Richard Collinson helped set up this school. He came to Jersey in 1977.
Famous Friendly Match
On December 4, 1972, St. Ouen played a special friendly match. They played against Celtic, a famous team from Scotland. The game took place at Springfield Stadium in Saint Helier. Celtic used their main players, including stars like Kenny Dalglish. This match helped Celtic get ready for a big cup final. Celtic won the game with a score of 11–1. St. Ouen's team also had some professional guest players. These included Jim Steele and Mick Channon from Southampton.
League Success and Promotions
In 2006, St. Ouen became champions of Division Two. This win meant they moved up to Division One. However, they went back down to Division Two the next season. But they quickly bounced back! They were promoted to Division One again the following season.
Club Developments and Special Moments
In 2008, St. Ouen got permission to build a new training field. The States of Jersey approved this plan. They saw how much the club helped the community. In 2012, something amazing happened. St. Ouen's goalkeeper, Paul Kemp, scored two goals in one game. This was against Rozel Rovers. It was the first time a goalkeeper scored twice in a match in Jersey. Also in 2012, St. Ouen won the Trinity Shield again. This was their first time winning it since 1939.
