St. Andrew's Church in Nottingham is a special kind of church called a parish church. It belongs to the Church of England, which is the main Christian church in England.

A Look Back: The History of St. Andrew's

This church was built between 1869 and 1871. It was first created as a "daughter church" for St. Ann's Church, Nottingham. This means it was a new church started by an older one. The first architect who designed it was William Knight. Later, in 1884, Sidney Roberts Stevenson made the church bigger.

In 2023, something new happened. St. Andrew's Church joined with Trinity Church Nottingham. Trinity Church had started nearby in 2016. The leader of Trinity Church, The Revd Jonny Hughes, became the vicar (main priest) of St. Andrew's Church on March 5, 2023.

Past Leaders of the Church

Many vicars and priests have led St. Andrew's Church over the years. Here are some of the people who have served the church:

Beautiful Stained Glass Windows

The church has lovely stained glass windows. These colorful windows were made by a company called Heaton, Butler and Bayne. Stained glass windows often tell stories from the Bible or show important figures.

The Church Organ

St. Andrew's Church has a very interesting organ. Some of its pipes are very old, dating back to 1777! These old pipes were originally part of an organ in another church, St. Mary's Church, Nottingham.

The organ was first put into St. Andrew's Church in 1871 by Lloyd and Dudgeon. Over the years, the organ has been rebuilt and improved several times. This work was done by different builders, including Bishop and Starr in 1876, and Conacher and Co in 1898. Later, Charles Lloyd worked on it in 1914 and 1922. In 1926, Roger Yates added a special part called a Tuba. The last major rebuild of the organ happened in 1934 by Hill, Norman and Beard.
