Staatl. Fachingen is a special type of mineral water from Germany. It comes from a natural spring that was discovered way back in 1740. People started selling this water in jars in 1746. Later, in 1870, they began putting it in bottles, which is how we see it today.
This water is known for having a high amount of hydrogen carbonate. This natural ingredient can help calm an upset stomach by balancing out extra acid. The spring where the water comes from is in the beautiful Lahn valley, near a nature preserve in Nassau.
History of the Brand
The name Staatlich is a German word that means "state-owned." For a long time, the spring was owned by the government of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. This changed in 1990 when the brand was sold to a company called Mineralbrunnen Überkingen-Teinach AG.
Later, in 2001, the Karlsberg company bought a large part of that company. This deal included Staatl. Fachingen and other drink brands like Afri-Cola.
Today, Staatl. Fachingen is still a popular brand in Germany. Besides its classic mineral water, the company also started selling flavored water in 2008.
