Stan Kyles was born on February 26, 1961. He is an American former professional baseball pitcher and coach. He worked as the bullpen coach for the Milwaukee Brewers in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2009 to 2012.

Playing Baseball
Stan Kyles started his baseball journey when the Chicago Cubs picked him in the 1979 draft. He was the 90th player chosen overall. That year, he played his first season in the Rookie league for the Gulf Coast Cubs.
Moving Up in the Minor Leagues
The next year, Kyles played for the Class A-Low Geneva Cubs. In 1981, he started with Geneva before moving up to the Class A Quad City Cubs. In 1982, he played for the Class A-Advanced Salinas Spurs. He had a great year, winning 11 games and losing 5. His ERA was 2.51, which is very good, and he got 118 strikeouts. In 1983, he played for both the Double-A Midland Cubs and the Triple-A Iowa Cubs.
Changing Teams
In 1984, Kyles was traded from the Cubs to the Oakland Athletics. He started with their Double-A team, the Albany-Colonie A's. The next year, he moved up to their Triple-A team, the Tacoma Tigers. In 1986, he split his time between Tacoma and the Double-A Huntsville Stars. He played his last season with Oakland in 1987, back with Tacoma.
Kyles joined a new team in 1988, playing for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's Triple-A team, the Albuquerque Dukes. In 1989, which was his last year as a player, Kyles played for two different Double-A teams: the San Francisco Giants' Shreveport Captains and the Milwaukee Brewers' El Paso Diablos.
Retiring as a Player
After playing for 11 seasons in the minor leagues, Stan Kyles retired. He played in 279 games as a pitcher. His career record was 52 wins and 56 losses. He had a 3.86 ERA and recorded 508 strikeouts.
Coaching Baseball
After he stopped playing, Kyles became a coach in 1991. He worked for the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies minor league teams. Then, in 2001, he joined the Milwaukee Brewers organization as a pitching coach.
Coaching in the Minor Leagues
His first season coaching at the Triple-A level was in 2004 with the Indianapolis Indians. The next year, the Brewers changed their top minor league team to the Nashville Sounds. In his first year with Nashville, the team won their league championship. In 2006 and 2007, the pitchers he coached had the best ERA in the league.
After the 2006 regular season, Kyles also coached in the Mexican Winter League for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. His team won the league championship there too.
Coaching in Major League Baseball
On November 12, 2008, Stan Kyles became the new bullpen coach for the Milwaukee Brewers. This is a coach who works with the relief pitchers. In April 2010, he faced a health challenge and took a short break for treatment. He returned to his role as the Brewers bullpen coach on May 25, 2010. He continued coaching for the Brewers until July 30, 2012.
