Standard is a small village in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located about 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of Calgary. The village is surrounded by Wheatland County. The Canadian Pacific Kansas City train tracks run just south of Standard.
About Standard Village
Standard was first settled by immigrants from Denmark. Its economy mainly relies on the surrounding farms. The village also has a growing energy industry. You can find several oil and gas rigs nearby.

Some of the biggest employers in Standard include Agrium Liquid Fertilizer. This company runs a manufacturing plant. The Husky Oil Plant is another important employer in the area.
