Stanton is a city in Texas, United States. It is the main town, or county seat, of Martin County. German immigrants first settled here and called the area Marienfeld. In 2020, about 2,657 people lived in Stanton.

History of Stanton
Stanton has an interesting past. In 1887, a man named John Scharbauer from New York started a large cattle ranch here. This was before Stanton became a city.
