Many of the grand houses in Stapleton Heights were built in the late 1800s. These homes belonged to families who owned important businesses along the waterfront. For example, there were several breweries (places that make drinks like beer) operating nearby. The last of these breweries closed in 1963.

Some local stories even say that one of these old homes, located on Louis Street, might be "haunted"! It's a fun local legend that adds to the neighborhood's charm.
