Coat of Arms of Pakistan facts for kids
The State Emblem of Pakistan is like a special symbol for the country. It was chosen in 1954. This emblem shows important ideas and parts of Pakistan's culture. It uses colors and symbols that are meaningful to the people.
The green color and the star and crescent moon at the top are symbols of Islam. This is the main religion for most people in Pakistan. In the middle of the emblem, there is a shield. This shield is divided into four parts. Each part shows a major crop that was important to Pakistan when the emblem was made. These crops are cotton, jute, tea, and wheat.
Around the shield, there is a beautiful floral wreath. This wreath is made of the Jasminum officinale flower, which is Pakistan's national flower. It represents the rich cultural history from the Mughal era. At the very bottom, there is a scroll with Pakistan's national motto. This motto is in Urdu and was created by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It says Iman, Ittehad, Nazm, which means "Faith, Unity, Discipline". Pakistan is a country in the Indus Valley region of Asia. The crescent moon on the emblem is similar to the one on Pakistan's flag, but the colors are swapped.
Emblems for Different Regions
Just like the country has a main emblem, different parts of Pakistan also have their own special symbols. These are called regional emblems. For example, the emblem of Azad Jammu and Kashmir shows a crescent and star, mountains, and a maple leaf. The maple leaf is there because many maple trees grow in that area. Other regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan also have their own unique emblems. These emblems often show things that are important or special to their specific region.
