Stefan Marius Johansen (born 8 January 1991) is a professional footballer from Norway. He plays as a central midfielder, helping his team control the middle of the field. Stefan also played for the Norway national team until he stopped playing international games in 2021.
Stefan joined Bodø/Glimt when he was 14 years old. He started playing for their main team in 2007. Later, in 2011, he moved to Strømsgodset. There, he became a very important player. His team finished second in the league in 2012 and won the league title in 2013. For his great performance, Stefan won the Kniksen Award as the best midfielder in 2013.
In January 2014, he moved to Celtic, a famous club in Scotland. In 2015, Celtic fans voted him their player of the year. Stefan has also played for Norway's youth teams. He was part of the under-21 team that played in the 2013 European Championship. He played his first game for the senior national team in 2013.

Stefan's Football Journey
Stefan Johansen started his football career in his hometown of Vardø, a small town in northern Norway. He moved to Bodø at age 14 to join Bodø/Glimt.
Starting Out at Bodø/Glimt
Stefan joined Bodø/Glimt's main team in 2007. He played his first game in the Norwegian Football Cup. In 2007, Bodø/Glimt was promoted to the top league, Tippeligaen. Stefan played six games that season. He made his first appearance in Tippeligaen in August 2008.
He played more regularly for Bodø/Glimt in 2010. Many clubs in Norway wanted to sign him because he was seen as a big talent. In December 2010, he signed a contract with Strømsgodset and joined them in 2011.
Winning Big with Strømsgodset
Stefan played his first game for Strømsgodset in 2011. In his first season, he played 13 league games and scored one goal. He became a key player for Strømsgodset, especially after another player, Mohammed Abu, left.
In 2012, Stefan scored two amazing goals from free kicks. In 2013, he helped Strømsgodset win their first league title in 43 years! This was a huge achievement for the club. Because of his excellent play, he was named the Midfielder of the Year in the Norwegian league.
Playing in Scotland with Celtic
On 15 January 2014, Stefan moved to Scottish Premiership club Celtic. He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. He was given the number 25 shirt, a number worn by famous players before him.
Stefan played his first game for Celtic on 26 January 2014. He scored his first goal for the club on 22 March 2014 with a header in a 3–0 win. He became a fan favorite and was voted Celtic Player of the Year in 2015.
Time in England with Fulham and QPR
Stefan signed with Fulham on 26 August 2016. He scored his first goal for Fulham in October 2016. In January 2019, he joined West Brom on loan for a short time.
Later, on 26 January 2021, Stefan joined Queens Park Rangers (QPR) on loan. He scored his first goal for QPR in February 2021. After a successful loan, he joined QPR permanently on 24 July 2021, signing a three-year deal. He left QPR in June 2023.
Return to Norway with Sarpsborg 08
In 2024, Stefan returned to Norway to play for Sarpsborg 08.
Playing for Norway
Stefan Johansen started playing for Norway's national youth teams when he was just 15 years old. He played for the under-15, under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19, and under-21 teams.
He was part of the under-21 team that reached the semi-finals of the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. They beat England but lost to Spain, who went on to win the tournament.
Stefan made his debut for the senior Norway national team in 2013. He scored his first international goal in his very first game against Sweden on 14 August 2013. He played 55 games for his country and scored 6 goals. On 22 March 2017, Stefan was chosen as the new captain of the Norway team. He announced his retirement from international football on 10 March 2021.
