Sternenberg was once a small town, or "municipality," located in Switzerland. It was part of the Zürich canton and the Pfäffikon district. On January 1, 2015, Sternenberg joined with the nearby town of Bauma. Now, it is part of the larger Bauma municipality.

Before it merged, Sternenberg covered an area of about 8.7 square kilometers (3.3 square miles). A large part of this land, almost 38%, was used for farming. Forests covered an even bigger area, about 58% of the land.

Only a small portion, about 3.8%, had buildings or roads. The rest of the land, a tiny 0.2%, was made up of non-productive areas like rivers or mountains. In 1996, buildings and homes took up 2.3% of the total area. Roads and other transport paths made up 1.5%.

In 2013, Sternenberg had a population of 351 people. By 2007, about 4% of the people living there were from other countries. The population slowly decreased over ten years, by about 1.4%.

Most people in Sternenberg spoke German, about 98% of the population in 2000. A very small number spoke French or English.
