Sitiveni P. Kaufusi (born October 17, 1963) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of the Philadelphia Eagles team from 1988 to 1990. Steve was chosen in the 12th round of the 1988 NFL draft. This means he was one of the players picked by NFL teams that year.

Before playing professionally, Steve Kaufusi was a college football player. He played for Brigham Young University (BYU). He also attended a junior college called Dixie State College. Today, this school is known as Utah Tech University. Playing college football helps athletes get ready for the professional leagues.
Coaching Days
After his playing career, Steve Kaufusi became a coach. He was a defensive-line coach at Brigham Young University. He stopped coaching there in January 2018. As a coach, he helped recruit many Polynesian players to BYU. Recruiting means finding talented young athletes to join the team. Steve was one of the few coaches from Tonga working in Division I football. Division I is the highest level of college sports in the United States.
Family Life
Steve Kaufusi has three sons who also played college football. His sons, Bronson, Corbin, and Devin, all played for the BYU Cougars. Devin also played football for the University of Utah. Bronson and Corbin were also part of the BYU basketball team. Steve's wife, Michelle Kaufusi, is the mayor of Provo, Utah.
