Steven Wayne Daniels was born on December 12, 1992. He is an American football coach. He used to play professional football as a linebacker. Since 2024, he has been the defensive line coach for the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Steven played college football at Boston College. The Washington Redskins picked him in the 2016 NFL draft. He went to St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. After that, he studied at Worcester Academy before going to Boston College.

As a senior at Boston College, he was named to the first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). This means he was one of the best players in his conference.

Playing in the NFL

Steven Daniels played for a few teams in the NFL. He was a strong player, but injuries affected his time in the league.

Washington Redskins Team

The Washington Redskins chose Steven in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL draft. He was the 232nd player picked overall. During training camp in August 2016, Steven hurt his shoulder. He needed surgery, which meant he could not play in his first season. The team later let him go in May 2017.

Philadelphia Eagles Team

In May 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles picked up Steven. They later let him go in June 2017. However, they signed him again in July for three years. He was then let go again in August 2017.

New York Giants Team

Steven signed with the New York Giants in August 2017. He was with them for a short time. The Giants let him go in September 2017.

Coaching Football

After his playing career, Steven Daniels started coaching. He has helped several college football teams.

Steven began his coaching journey as an intern at Boston College. In 2018, he joined Northeastern as an assistant strength coach. From 2019 to 2021, he coached inside linebackers at Bryant.

In 2022, he returned to Boston College. He worked as the assistant director of defensive recruiting. In 2023, he joined UMass as an analyst. He became the defensive line coach at UMass in 2024.
