History of Stevens
The community of Stevens got its name from Thaddeus Stevens. He was a very important politician in American history.
Stevens was also once called "Reamstown Station." This was because it had the closest train station to a bigger community nearby called Reamstown. By 1899, people just started calling it Stevens.

Geography of Stevens
Stevens is located in the northern part of Lancaster County. It sits right on the border between two townships: East Cocalico and West Cocalico. The border between these townships follows North Line Road and South Line Road. These roads cross Main Street in the center of Stevens.

To the north of Stevens, you'll find the borough of Denver. To the south, it borders Ephrata Township. The borough of Ephrata is about 3 miles (5 km) southwest. Lancaster, which is the main city of the county, is about 16 miles (26 km) southwest of Stevens.
Land and Water
The Stevens area covers about 4.0 square kilometers (1.5 square miles) of land. Only a tiny part, about 0.01%, is water. Water from the community flows south into Cocalico Creek. This creek then flows into the Conestoga River, which eventually joins the large Susquehanna River.
