History of Stilesville
Stilesville was first planned out in 1828. The town was named after Jeremiah Stiles, who was one of the first people to settle in the area. A very important road, the National Road, was built through Stilesville in 1830. This road helped connect different parts of the country. Interestingly, a town called Stiles, Wisconsin was also named after Stilesville, Indiana.
