Stitch Encounter is a super fun and interactive show where you get to chat with Stitch from Disney's Lilo & Stitch movies! It's like magic because Stitch talks to you in real-time, thanks to special technology called real-time animation and digital puppetry. This means a hidden performer controls Stitch's movements and voice, making it seem like he's really there talking to you!

You can find Stitch Encounter at several Disney parks around the world. It's called Stitch Live! at Walt Disney Studios Park in France. You can also visit Stitch at Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland Park. The very first Stitch Encounter opened in Hong Kong Disneyland in July 2006. That version closed in 2016 to make space for a new Star Wars area. However, Stitch made a special, temporary return to Hong Kong in 2019 for a short time!

What is Stitch Encounter?

Imagine walking into a movie theater, but instead of just watching a film, you get to talk to one of the characters! That's what Stitch Encounter is like. The room where you sit is called the Space Traffic Control. Kids are often invited to sit closer to the front so Stitch can see them easily.

At the start of the show, a friendly host asks a computer to find a spaceship captain to talk to. Guess who the computer connects to? None other than Stitch himself!

Chatting with Stitch

Once Stitch appears on the big screen, the real fun begins! He can pick people from the audience, both kids and adults, to chat with. Stitch is full of surprises! He might ask you questions, sing you a song with his ukulele, or even pretend to take your picture. He looks, moves, and sounds just like he does in the movies and Lilo & Stitch: The Series. He even makes funny faces and gestures!

The show is different every time because Stitch talks to different people and reacts to what they say. It's all unscripted, which means there's no set dialogue, making each show unique and exciting!

Helping Stitch Escape

Towards the end of the show, things get a little exciting! Captain Gantu, a big alien who often tries to catch Stitch, shows up. The audience gets to help Stitch escape from Captain Gantu, making you a part of the adventure!

Languages you can speak

Since Stitch Encounter is in different countries, it offers shows in various languages.

  • In the original Hong Kong version, you could hear shows in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
  • At the park in Paris, you can enjoy the show in French and English.
  • In Tokyo, Stitch speaks Japanese.
  • And in Shanghai, the show is in Mandarin.

Each show lasts about 15 minutes, and you can usually find the show times posted near the entrance of the attraction.
