Stolnik Peak facts for kids
Stolnik Peak is a tall mountain peak in Antarctica. It rises to 2,600 meters (about 8,530 feet) high. This peak is found in the eastern part of the Craddock Massif. The Craddock Massif is a large mountain group within the Sentinel Range. The Sentinel Range is part of the Ellsworth Mountains.
Stolnik Peak is located on a ridge that goes east from Mount Craddock. It looks over two glaciers: Sowers Glacier to the northwest and Saltzman Glacier to the south. Glaciers are like very slow-moving rivers of ice.
The peak got its name from a settlement called Stolnik in Western Bulgaria.
Where is Stolnik Peak?
Stolnik Peak is located at 78°36′52″S 84°57′05″W / 78.61444°S 84.95139°W. This means it is in a very cold and remote part of Antarctica.

- About 1.86 kilometers (1.16 miles) east of Sanchez Peak.
- About 4.24 kilometers (2.63 miles) south-southeast of Elfring Peak.
- About 1.97 kilometers (1.22 miles) west of Mount Osborne.
The area around Stolnik Peak was first mapped by the United States in 1961. These maps were later updated in 1988.
