Stormstown is a small community in Halfmoon Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that looks like a town but isn't officially a city or town with its own local government.
Stormstown is part of the larger State College, Pennsylvania area. In 2010, about 2,366 people lived there. The number of people living in Stormstown grew a lot between 2000 and 2010. This happened because new neighborhoods were built in the area.
Where is Stormstown Located?
Stormstown is in the southwestern part of Centre County, Pennsylvania. It sits in the Halfmoon Valley. To the northwest, you can see Bald Eagle Mountain.
The community also includes a small area called Centennial. Pennsylvania Route 550 goes through Stormstown. This road leads northeast about 4 miles (6.4 km) to Atherton Street. From there, it's about 6 miles (9.7 km) west of State College, Pennsylvania.
From Centennial, another road goes northwest over Bald Eagle Mountain. This road leads to Port Matilda, Pennsylvania, which is about 2 miles (3.2 km) away. It's also about 3 miles (4.8 km) to Interstate 99.
