Strawberry Valley is a small place in Yuba County, California. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government. It's located about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of a place called Challenge. Strawberry Valley sits high up, at about 3,757 feet (1,145 meters) above sea level.
A post office first opened here way back in 1855. There are two ideas about how Strawberry Valley got its name. Some people think it's because lots of wild strawberries grew there. Others believe it was named after two early settlers, Mr. Straw and Mr. Berry.
