Post Office and Mail Route
For many years, Strickler was an important stop for mail.
- A post office for a nearby community called Greenville (which later became Strickler) was open from 1854 to 1874.
- Later, the Strickler post office itself operated from 1878 until 1943.
The community was also located on the famous Butterfield Overland Mail route. This was a very important stagecoach service that carried mail and passengers across the country in the mid-1800s.
