Subtropical Storm Alberto was the very first tropical cyclone of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. It was also the strongest storm in May, based on its air pressure, since Hurricane Able in 1951.
Alberto hit parts of the United States, including Georgia and Alabama. When it made landfall, its winds were about 45 miles per hour.
The strongest winds Alberto had reached around 65 miles per hour. Sadly, nine people died because of the storm in Cuba and the United States.
