Susan Frances Harmar Nicholls (born 23 November 1943) is a famous English actress. She is best known for playing Audrey Roberts in the popular TV show Coronation Street. She has been on the show for a very long time, starting in 1979.
Sue Nicholls has also starred in other well-known British TV series. These include Crossroads, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, and Rentaghost. She even performed on Broadway in New York City. For her role as Audrey Roberts, she has won several awards. These include the British Soap Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2000 and Best Dramatic Performance in 2003. Susan Frances Harmar Nicholls was born in Darlaston, England. Her father was Sir Harmar Nicholls, who was a politician. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for many years. An MP is someone elected to represent people in the UK government. He later became a "life peer," which means he was given a special title for life. Because of her father's title, Sue is known as "The Honourable Susan Nicholls."

Sue Nicholls first became famous playing Marilyn Gates on the TV show Crossroads. She was on this show from 1964 to 1968. While on the show, she sang a song called "Where Will You Be?". This song became a hit in the UK, reaching number 17 on the music charts in 1968.

Sue Nicholls was married to actor Mark Eden from 1993 until he passed away in 2021. Mark Eden also appeared on Coronation Street as a character named Alan Bradley.
In 2011, something amazing happened. A nurse named Anna Bianconi-Moore was watching Coronation Street. She noticed a mole on Sue Nicholls' shoulder that looked unusual. The nurse was concerned and contacted the TV show right away. Sue was then checked by the show's doctor, who sent her to a skin specialist. It turned out to be a type of skin cancer. Luckily, the mole was removed with surgery. The TV company thanked the nurse for her quick thinking. She was even invited to visit the Coronation Street set and meet Sue Nicholls.
