Surface facts for kids
A surface is like the outside skin or layer of an object. Think of it as the part you can touch or see on the very outside. Most surfaces have a width (how wide it is) and a length (how long it is), but they don't have any depth (how thick it is).
Scientists and mathematicians study surfaces in a field called geometry.
What is a Surface?

- Imagine you dip a piece of metal into red paint. When you pull it out, the parts that are now red are the surface of the object.
