Early Life and Education
Susannah Grant grew up in New York City. She went to Amherst College, a well-known school, and graduated in 1984. After that, she studied at the AFI Conservatory, which is a famous film school. She also received a special award called the Nicholl Fellowship for her screenwriting skills.

Susannah Grant started her career in television. From 1994 to 1997, she was a producer and a main writer for the TV drama series Party of Five.
