Susannah Grant (born January 4, 1963) is an American writer, director, and producer for movies and TV shows. She is known for writing popular films like Erin Brockovich and Pocahontas. She also created and directed the Netflix series Unbelievable.

Early Life and Education
Susannah Grant was born in New York City. She went to Amherst College, a university, and graduated in 1984. She also studied at the AFI Conservatory, which is a special school for filmmaking. At AFI, she won the Nicholl Fellowship, a prize for screenwriting.
Her Career in Film and TV
Susannah Grant has worked on many exciting projects. From 1994 to 1997, she was a producer and writer for the TV show Party of Five. This show was about five siblings who had to live together after their parents died.
Writing Movies
Grant wrote the scripts for several well-known movies. These include Pocahontas (1995), a Disney animated film, and Ever After (1998), a modern fairy tale. She also wrote 28 Days (2000), a drama about recovery.
One of her most famous works is the movie Erin Brockovich (2000). This film was directed by Steven Soderbergh. For her work on Erin Brockovich, Susannah Grant was nominated for an Academy Award in 2001. This award was for Best Original Screenplay, which means she wrote the best original story for a movie that year.
Directing and Producing
After her Oscar nomination, Grant continued to write and direct. She adapted the books In Her Shoes (2005) and Charlotte's Web (2006) into movies. In 2006, she wrote and directed her own film called Catch and Release. This movie starred Jennifer Garner.
Grant also created and produced TV series. In 2011, she made the CBS series A Gifted Man. In 2014, she created another show for ABC called Members Only.
Recent Projects
In 2019, Susannah Grant co-created, wrote, and directed the Netflix miniseries Unbelievable. This series was based on real events and starred Kaitlyn Dever and Toni Collette. It was very popular and received many good reviews.
More recently, she wrote and directed the Netflix movie Lonely Planet. This film stars Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth.
