The Suwanee Half Marathon is a yearly running race held in Suwanee, Georgia. It's a special type of race called a half marathon, which means runners go 13.1 miles (about 21 kilometers). This race started in 2015 and has happened every year since then.
It's a "USATF certified" race, which means USA Track & Field, a big sports group, has checked the course to make sure the distance is exactly right. The race route takes runners past cool places like Suwanee Town Center and Suwanee Creek Greenway. It's even a qualifying race for the Peachtree Road Race, which is one of the biggest 10K races in the world!
Besides the half marathon, there's also a shorter 5K race called the Old Town 5K that happens right after.
About the Race Course
The Suwanee Half Marathon race begins at the Suwanee City Hall. The path takes runners through different parts of Suwanee. Some parts of the course are hilly, while others are flat.
The race finishes at the Suwanee Town Center Park. All runners who complete the 13.1-mile journey get a special medal. They also receive a long-sleeved shirt and a custom fleece blanket. The design of the blanket changes every year, making it a unique souvenir!
