Sylvan Springs is a small town in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is located northwest of Pleasant Grove, a suburb of Birmingham. The town officially became a town on May 22, 1957.
In 2010, about 1,542 people lived there. By 2020, the population grew to 1,653. Sylvan Springs was hit by a very strong tornado on April 8, 1998. This tornado caused damage to many places, including the First United Methodist Church.
