Early Success with Nissan Motors

They won Japan's three biggest football titles two years in a row. These titles were the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup.
Continued Wins and Retirement
In the early 1990s, the club kept winning. They won the JSL Cup in 1990 and the Emperor's Cup in both 1991 and 1992. They also won the Asian Cup Winners' Cup twice, in 1991–92 and 1992–93. Mizunuma played his last game in 1995 and then retired from playing professional football.
