Takashi Mizunuma (水沼 貴史, Mizunuma Takashi, born May 28, 1960) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He also works as a football commentator. He played for the Japan national team. His son, Kota Mizunuma, is also a football player.

Playing Career Highlights

Takashi Mizunuma was born in Saitama, Japan, on May 28, 1960. He became a professional football player after finishing his studies at Hosei University.

Club Successes

  • In 1983, Mizunuma joined a team called Nissan Motors. This team later became known as Yokohama Marinos.
  • His club won the Emperor's Cup in 1983 and again in 1985.
  • From 1988 to 1990, his team was very successful. They won Japan's three main football titles two years in a row. These titles were the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup.
  • In the 1990s, the club continued to win. They won the JSL Cup in 1990 and the Emperor's Cup in 1991 and 1992.
  • His team also won two Asian titles: the 1991–92 Asian Cup Winners' Cup and the 1992–93 Asian Cup Winners' Cup.
  • Takashi Mizunuma retired from playing football in 1995.

National Team Appearances

  • In August 1979, while still a university student, Mizunuma was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team.
