Takayoshi Amma is a Japanese football (soccer) player and coach. He was born on May 23, 1969. He used to play football and now he coaches teams. Currently, he is a coach for FC Tokyo, a team in Japan's top football league, the J1 League.
Playing Career
Takayoshi Amma was born in Hamamatsu, Japan. After finishing university at Komazawa University, he started playing professional football for a team called Honda in 1992. He was a very good player. In 1999, he won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the Japan Football League. He stopped playing football in 2001.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing, Takayoshi Amma became a football coach. In 2002, he became the manager for his old team, Honda. In his first year as manager, his team won the championship in the Japan Football League. They also finished second in the league in 2003 and 2004.
In 2005, he moved to a team called Ventforet Kofu, which played in the J2 League (Japan's second-highest league). He worked there as an assistant coach. In 2008, he became the main manager for Ventforet Kofu and stayed in that role until 2009.
In 2010, he joined another J2 League team, Kataller Toyama, as an assistant coach. Later that year, he became the main manager for the team. However, the team's results were not very good, and they were moved down to the J3 League (Japan's third-highest league) in 2014. He left the team at the end of 2014.
In 2015, Takayoshi Amma joined FC Tokyo as an assistant coach. He also managed FC Tokyo U-23, which is a team for younger players, in 2016. In 2017, he became the main manager for the top FC Tokyo team for a short time. In 2018, he went back to being an assistant coach for the main team and also managed FC Tokyo U-23 again. In 2021, he became the manager for FC Gifu.
