Takeshi Aoki, born on September 28, 1982, is a Japanese football player. He is known for playing as a defender or midfielder. Takeshi also played for the Japan national team.

Takeshi Aoki's Club Career Highlights

Takeshi Aoki was born in Takasaki, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined the J1 League club Kashima Antlers in 2001. From his very first season, he played as a defensive midfielder. The Antlers team won the championship in the 2001 J1 League and the 2002 J.League Cup.

Becoming a Regular Player

By the 2003 season, Takeshi became a regular player for Kashima Antlers. He played in many matches for a long time. In 2007, the Antlers won the J1 League championship. This was their first win in six years. They also won the Emperor's Cup that year. The Antlers then won the J1 League championship three years in a row, from 2007 to 2009.

Later Years with Antlers and Other Clubs

From 2010, Takeshi played less often as a starting player. However, the Antlers continued to win. They won the 2010 Emperor's Cup, the J.League Cup in 2011, and again in 2012. From 2012, Takeshi often played as a center back. The Antlers won the J.League Cup in 2015. In 2016, he did not play much.

In July 2016, Takeshi Aoki moved to Sagan Tosu. He played for this club for two seasons. In 2018, he joined J2 League club Roasso Kumamoto. In 2019, he moved to Nankatsu SC, a club in the Prefectural Leagues.

Takeshi Aoki's National Team Journey

In June 2001, Takeshi Aoki was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. This team competed in the 2001 World Youth Championship. In this tournament, he played every minute of all three matches as a defensive midfielder.

He played his first international game for the Japan national team on August 20, 2008. This was a friendly match against Uruguay at Sapporo Dome.
