Takuto Hayashi (林 卓人, Hayashi Takuto, born 9 August 1982) is a Japanese former professional footballer. He played as a goalkeeper. He played for clubs like Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Consadole Sapporo, and Vegalta Sendai.

Takuto Hayashi's Football Journey

Early Career and First Club

Takuto Hayashi was born in Ibaraki, Japan, on August 9, 1982. After finishing high school, he joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2001. This club plays in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. However, it was hard for him to play many games at first. He was often behind another goalkeeper named Takashi Shimoda.

Becoming a Regular Player

In 2005, Hayashi moved to Consadole Sapporo. This team was in the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan. He quickly became the main goalkeeper for the team in May 2005. He continued as a regular player in 2006.

Success with Vegalta Sendai

In June 2007, Hayashi joined another J2 League club, Vegalta Sendai. He became their regular goalkeeper very quickly. In 2009, he played in all 51 matches for Vegalta Sendai. That year, his team won the J2 League championship!

From 2010 to 2013, Vegalta Sendai played in the J1 League. Hayashi played in every single one of their 34 league matches each season. His team did very well, finishing 4th in 2011 and 2nd in 2012. The 2nd place finish was the highest in the club's history.

Return to Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Championship Win

In 2014, Takuto Hayashi returned to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. This was 10 years after he first played for them. He became the regular goalkeeper for Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In 2015, his team won the J1 League championship!

Hayashi played for Sanfrecce Hiroshima for 10 seasons in total. He announced that he would retire from professional football at the end of the 2023 season. Throughout his career, he played over 600 professional matches.
